WonderSlim Gives Back Through Employee Community Impact Initiative

By | July 26, 2017

As part of WonderSlim’s year-long “Feel Wonderful. Give Back.” initiative to help fight hunger in the US, we’ve also committed to helping those in need where we live and work. We’re proud of the fact that our employees have long been involved in community service work. Now, we’ve created a new volunteer opportunity for team members to get involved with the company¬†social mission¬†to help those in need.

Each month, employee volunteers will be assisting at a local, Feeding America-affiliated food bank. We kicked off the effort this week, after work, at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina’s Wilmington branch. There, our team helped out in the warehouse, unloading and sorting donations that will be packed in meal bags and lunches for schoolchildren.

The Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, and our local Wilmington branch serves the four southeastern North Carolina counties in the area that surrounds our headquarters. In just the counties in their service area, almost 73,000 people live in food insecure households, with nearly 1/3 of them being children. The Food Bank works with 108 partner agencies such as soup kitchens, food pantries shelters, and programs for children and adults, locally.

We were delighted to have a great turnout to this service event and greatly appreciative to everyone on our team who helped out. Employees from all departments and all levels, including our Owner and CEO, have committed to offering their time to support this cause they truly believe in.

If you’d like to get involved with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina you can find information on donating, volunteering, or hosting a food drive on their website, here. They proudly note that for every dollar donated, they provide five meals to the Wilmington community.
